Our Story

Where Compassion Became a Vision

VIP Day Centre was never created to be just another care service. It was created to change lives.

Our story began with one woman’s determination to ensure that no family would have to experience the same lack of support that her own family faced.

From personal experience, professional expertise and a belief that people deserve more than safety alone, VIP Day Centre was born to help adults remain active, connected, independent and truly valued.

“Will this improve someone’s quality of life?”

The question that still guides every decision we make.
Person first We see the individual before the condition, diagnosis or support need.
Purpose every day Activities, friendships and meaningful routines help people continue living well.
Family reassurance Families know their loved ones are safe, supported, stimulated and valued.
Community belonging Our centres help adults remain connected to local life, friendship and independence.

A story rooted in real experience

After spending more than 14 years working across a variety of health and social care settings, Natalie dedicated her career to supporting people living with dementia, disabilities and sensory impairments.

Throughout those years she witnessed the incredible difference that truly person-centred care could make, but she also saw the challenges faced by families struggling to access meaningful community support.

Everything changed when Natalie’s own grandmother was diagnosed with dementia.

Like so many people, she wanted nothing more than to remain in the comfort, familiarity and security of her own home. While domiciliary care provided essential assistance with personal care and household tasks, it could not address the loneliness, loss of purpose and social isolation that slowly became part of everyday life.

Too often, she found herself sitting alone within the same four walls, waiting for the next care visit rather than living the life she deserved.

Watching this unfold was heartbreaking.

Natalie also experienced the emotional and physical pressures that thousands of unpaid family carers face every day. She realised there was a significant gap between supporting someone’s physical needs and helping them truly live well.

Natalie believed there had to be a better way

As Local Authority day centres continued to close across the country, opportunities for people to socialise, enjoy meaningful activities and remain active within their communities were disappearing.

Families were increasingly left with impossible choices between expensive residential care or brief domiciliary care visits that, while invaluable, could never replace friendship, purpose and belonging.

Driven by both professional expertise and personal experience, Natalie undertook specialist dementia training and later achieved a Master’s Degree in Dementia Studies, combining evidence-based research with years of frontline experience.

Her vision was simple yet ambitious: to create a service where every individual would be valued as a person first, not defined by a diagnosis.

From that vision, Valuing Individual People — VIP Day Centre was born.

More Than Care

VIP Day Centre was founded on a belief that every individual deserves to continue living a meaningful, fulfilling and independent life regardless of age, disability or diagnosis.

We believe care should never simply be about keeping someone safe. It should be about creating opportunities.

1

Opportunities to laugh, learn and enjoy friendship.

2

Opportunities to regain confidence and discover new interests.

3

Opportunities to remain part of a local community.

4

Opportunities to continue living life with purpose.

Every aspect of our centres has been designed around these principles.

Rather than fitting people into routines, we build every day around the individual. Members choose how they spend their time, whether that’s gardening, music, exercise, cooking, arts and crafts, quizzes, technology, beauty therapy, reminiscence, sensory experiences or simply enjoying conversation with friends over freshly prepared meals.

Every smile, every conversation and every achievement matters because every person matters.

Families & Carers

Supporting the Whole Family

We understand that when one person requires care, the entire family is affected.

That’s why VIP supports not only our members, but also the loved ones who care for them.

Families gain reassurance knowing their relatives are safe, happy, stimulated and enjoying their day, while also having valuable time to work, rest or simply recharge.

Working together

Our centres complement domiciliary care rather than replace it. We work alongside home care providers, health professionals, local authorities and community organisations because we believe the very best outcomes are achieved when services work together.

Excellence Through Knowledge

Our highly trained team delivers personalised support tailored to every individual’s needs while promoting dignity, independence and choice.

Alongside meaningful activities, we provide medication support, monitor nutrition and hydration, carry out risk enablement assessments and work closely with families and professionals to ensure truly holistic care.

Natalie’s commitment to continuous learning remains central to everything we do. Alongside her extensive practical experience, she holds Level 5 qualifications in both Health and Social Care and Business Management, together with a Master’s Degree in Dementia Studies.

This combination of academic knowledge, professional expertise and lived experience continues to shape the innovative, evidence-based approach that defines VIP Day Centre today.

How the Vision Grew

A Vision That Continues to Grow

What began as one centre built from personal experience has grown into an award-winning organisation recognised nationally for excellence, innovation and outstanding care.

01

Personal experience

02

A clear gap in support

Families needed more than brief care visits. They needed meaningful days, social connection, reassurance and respite.

VIP Day Centre was born

Valuing Individual People became the heart of the service: seeing each person first and supporting them to live with dignity, confidence and purpose.
